This study is intended to investigate the subject of adsorption to the pre-service science teachers within the curriculum of chemistry course by means of instrumental analysis. The adsorption of porous materials in colourful solutions was investigated in terms of spectroscopy techniques. Then, the images and data obtained by SEM were used to increase the permanency of the learning and eliminate the potential conceptual fallacies. The study employed purposeful sampling. Presentation of experimental activities in the form of display experiments resulted in a significant difference between the pre-test and post- test results and this shows that there is an increase in the information level of the participants. The fact that greater similarity observed between the students’ post-test drawings of the surface structure of the matter adsorbing and its real structure when compared to their pre-test drawings shows that the application is successful.

The aim of this study is to develop a valid, reliable and up to date measurement tool that determines the motivations of secondary school students towards Chemistry Research Interest, Performance, Collaborative Work and Communication, and Chemistry Learning, taking into account the secondary school chemistry curriculum. 336 students from different schools participated in the study. As a result of the study, a reliable and valid measuring instrument consisting of three subfactors measuring the motivation of the secondary school students towards the chemistry course was developed. The Cronbachs alpha reliability coefficient of your scale is 0.962. The reliability coefficients of the subscales of the scale ranged from 0.951 to 0.871, and the factor loadings of the scale items ranged from 0.852 to 0.492. It’s extremely important to know how much the changes made in the 2017 Chemistry Curriculum could solve the problems of the teachers who apply the 2013 Chemistry Curriculum. Based on this idea, first the Chemistry teachers’ views about the 2013 Chemistry Curriculum were examined, and then the changes in the 2017 Chemistry Curriculum were evaluated by considering the teachers’ opinions. 88 chemistry teachers working in different cities of Turkey participated in the first part of the two part study.
